Nigeria is more often associated with the oil industry than with great urban landscape architecture. In cooperation with Bilfinger+Berger we worked on this project. From 1988 through 1993. Our tasks included planning and carrying out of creative landscape architecture. We developed a new concept of plantation for the new Presidents Palace, the Parade Square of the “Three Arms Zone” and many other Administration Buildings. The right solution to the given vegetation (subtropical and tropical) was an important fact to be recognized. The central elements of that landscape design were many different stone materials, fountain – and water systems and tree alleys.
